Spanish Teacher for After School Club St Albans And Hemel Heampstead, Hertfordshire

Spanish Amigos is currently looking for a PART TIME Spanish teacher in St Albans and Hemel Hempstead with experience of teaching children (in school/clubs/groups etc) to start as soon as possible or in September. The hours are almost definitely to be weekdays working hour slots of 1 Hour in the Morning for Nurseries, between 3.30 to 4.30 for After school clubs and lunch time clubs. Ideally suited to someone who lives near St Albans and Hemel Hempstead and who has a car (or is willing to use public transport and/or walk!)

This is NOT a full time position although we may in future be able to offer more opportunities in future
PLEASE DO NOT APPLY IF YOU ARE NOT ALREADY CURRENTLY LIVING IN THE UK. Any emails which don't include an address will be deleted due to the nature of urgency of this post.

You MUST:
-Be able to communicate with a good level of spoken English and have a good level of understanding (you are wasting both our times if not!) - these clubs may include teaching families and you must be able to communicate in English as well as Spanish.
-Be able and willing to travel to St Albans and Hemel Hempstead: whether it is by train and/or bus or by car.
- Enjoy and have experience working with children or families
- Have an up to date or recent CRB check (if not you may still be able to work for us but will have to wait while your application is checked out)
- Be flexible and willing to work to Spanish Amigos methodologies!
- You must enjoy working with children and show some aptitude or experience of doing so.
-Most importantly you should be fluent in Spanish (and if you're fluent in French as well that's even better!) and have the ability to read Spanish materials with ease.

With Spanish Amigos you will be supplied with all the tools to make a great lesson which you then have to put in to action our club! Spanish Amigos has 10 years of experience of supplying Spanish to schools in clubs.

Estamos suficientemente preparadados para montar nuestra propia academia y saber gestionarla, se puede empezar con muy pocos recursos. Los compañeros del máster podemos ser una red muy fuerte de contactos y ayuda para un negocio.

Esto es un ejemplo de un proyecto en que empecé y del que me desvinculé más tarde.

School Direct o cómo ser QT sin dejarte toda la pasta

La mayor traba para trabajar de profe de español en la educación inglesa (y galesa) es que no vas a tener el grado de QUALIFIED TEACHER, se puede convalidar con el CAP, eso ya lo pondré en otra entrada. Esta entrada es para los que no tenemos el CAP, ni ganas de hacer. Pues si tienes una licenciatura o un grado o una diplomatura (los guiris no distinguen para ellos es todo degree) y unos cuantos años de experiencia docente, pues puedes acceder a un programa llamado "School Direct" que viene a significar "apáñatelas tú mismo". Se trata básicamente de que te pongas en contacto con los colegios, estos te pagan una mierda y duarante un año eres su chico para todo y finalmente consigues el título nobiliario de QT. Hay que hacerlo a través de la página oficial, allí hay una lista de colegios e institutos (tampoco distiguen) os pongo en enlace viene bien explicadito:

Summary:
The Modern Languages Teaching Centre is a department within the School of Languages and Cultures that offers a wide variety of language modules ranging from beginners’ to advanced levels in Arabic, French, German, Greek, Italian, Latin, Portuguese and Spanish. The successful applicant will be responsible for all aspects of the Spanish language programme. You will update, supervise and deliver courses ranging from beginners’ to near-native levels, contribute to administrative duties in relation to these courses and to Spanish provision as a whole, and oversee the work of a team of teachers. 
You will have near-native proficiency in Spanish with knowledge of current affairs and cultural life in Spanish-speaking countries and regions and good track record in teaching Spanish in higher education. You will have a degree involving Spanish (or equivalent experience), a teaching qualification and a strong commitment to the delivery of a high-quality language-learning experience.
This full-time post has a start date of 6 January 2014 or as soon as possible thereafter. We anticipate that interviews will be held in the last week of September 2013.
